im adding a second battery with a battery switch off, 1, 2 or both and 2 amps. i noticed some people are wiring there amps and/or radio to the switch. i ran 0/1 ga to my switch and from the switch to both batterys. Then 0/1 ga from battery 2 (stereo only) to a distrubution block, then from the block to the amps with the recommended wire gauge. Sound right?

Why not run everything to the COM terminal on the switch. Running the stereo directly to the battery leaves that group of electronics potentially powered even though you have the switch set to OFF.

i have 2 4 guage, 6 guage and a 8 guage power wire for my stereo. dont think it would all fit behing the battery switch. nothing should be powered when the radio is off.

Get a Busbar then you have one wire going from the switch to the busbar, then, from the busbar to the others for the amps etc.
All properly fused of course.

Re: dual batterys 2 amp

that is what im using (distribution blocks) for my stereo. my question is i have noticed some people connecting more that just the batterys to the battery switch and not using distribution block. just wondering if others have used distribution blocks with a battery switch. i like just having one 0/1 ga wire on the each of the 3 posts on battery switch and having the stereo, amps, etc using a distribution block. basically just asking if the blocks are a better way to go. thanks

Yes, the blocks are a better way to go.

You still need to fuse any leads off the distribution block/bus.
