have used the Panther kit (Garelik may make one too) in a number of applications. It's pretty versatile. It works with quick releases -- might be able to figure out a way to hook it up to the steering ram. Come to think of it, if you can piggy back on the steering ram you could disconnect the main motor steering link for exclusive use of the troller on that restricted reservoir.
(edit.: consider springing for the s.s. version/salt water version. quick connect mechanisms hold up a little better.)
