Re: Dude, I got a free boat!
Yeah, that probably would've worked. I ripped out the floors this time and replaced them with 3/4" marine grade ply. Last time I used 1/2" non marine grade. Under the 3/4" ply, there is a 24"x24" 1/4" thick plate of stainless steel followed by a 36"x36" sheet of 1/2" marine grade ply that has a been routed so the stringer fits nicely thru it. All of those were laminated to the 3/4" marine ply with liquid nails, then coated in 4 layers of fiberglass and resin. The holes for the pole were then drilled, and 1/4" stainless steel blots were inserted and secured with 1 1/" stainless steel washers, a lock nut, then tack welded to ensure they will never budge. The floor was laid in, secured, and again coated with 4 layers of fiberglass and resin.
I could probably pull a mule with this thing before it popped out of the floor.
