Dumb question... but is marine vinyl waterproof?

The question is in the title, just wondering if marine grade vinyl mean's that it is waterproof? Seems like a dumb question, but I googled it, searched for it here, and looked at the stickys and found nothing on whether it is waterproof from the store or if you have to use some sort of a sealer on it...

If you mean vinyl as in upholstery then the answer is Yes, it is waterproof and has built in UV protection. However your seams are susceptible to water penetration. There are products to aid in sealing the seams and the threads, buttons etc...

Perfect, exactly what I wanted to hear, and was assuming that's what marine grade vinyl ment--however you know what happens when we assume................................. :facepalm:
