One of the characteristics of epoxy is that it sets to a very hard smooth surface. Actually nothing will bond to it all that well unless its been at least scrubbed off a little bit. The amine blush is some chemical that forms on the surface when it sets, it will come off with soap and water allowing a chemical bond, but you should still go for the roughened surface for the mechanical bond. Epoxy will certainly bond to Polyester, which is what I think you meant when you said simply resin. They are both resin's, Polyester and Epoxy. They have different characteristics other than their bonding ability and epoxy is about 4x expensive. I think its worth it, I don't use anything else any more.<br /><br />Thom
