I am looking at a used 90 HP. It is a good deal, but the only thing that scares me is the amount of hours on the motor. It has 714 hours on it. The owner said it starts and runs fine and has good compression all the way around.
What are my concerns about this motor if any?? Has anyone had any experience with similar E-tec motors?? What amount of hours are recommended for a rebuild?? Any feedback will be appreciated! Thanks

Re: E-tec 2005

no experience with etecs i cant afford one or i would give it a shot .
depends on the money ,i believe they have certain updates that they need
you would want to take it to a dealer with experience , with etecs
i believe they can access computer and give you total hours /temps
and rpm/ for givin times ,700 hrs is no spring chicken. someone will come along with some advice ,i dont know what kind of comps they run
so cant really help ya there , look around there are some really nice motors in that range .
