easiest upgrade/ repower from force 125

i have a bayliner with a tired 125 force<br />is there an easy swap to replace this <br />engine with ? i am looking for engines from <br />115hp - 150 hp . is there a market for <br />running force engines that need freshened ?

Theres not much of a market for perfect running force engines.although I just bought a perfect running 125 this week. davexx

It depends on what year Force and what year Mercury. There was a change in the controls, but I am not sure what years.

where can i find if mercury or <br />chrysler made my year force engine ?

Chrysler made them thru 1983.<br />UsMarine made them from 1984 thru bankrupcy in 1989.<br />Mercury made them from late 1989 thru 1999.<br /><br />What years is yours?<br />Got a model and serial number?

If it has type 33 cables(Threaded on bothe ends)there are adapters avail to work on most any motor.I,m in the process of hooking mine up to an OMC binnacle mount control.also converting my OMc wiring harness to my force. davexx

i took the boat out yesterday and <br />it is still slow to get on plane <br />and only revs to 4500 <br /><br />compression was 120-110-60-120<br /><br />1 dead hole

The samething happened with my boat 1st time out and it was just a head gasket. I would pull the head and see from there, at the very least you will know for sure.<br /><br /><br />Chris
