Yeah I'm with ya Boom, but the point was that the 7.4 would run that well too . . . the other point is I would give him $16800 site unseen, let alone $6800 . . .

Re: eBay boat scam right now

I haven't really tried to get it running as I dove into a bizarre deal on three Briggs and Stratton OBs . . . that's how I'm up $100. Anyway, it is apparently a 68ish Clinton 3hp. I'm probably gonna dump it as I am a 2 stroke idiot. Apparently collectors don't care for 'em either . . .

BTW, it has good compression and I think it will start if I get fuel to it . . .

Re-reading the ad, I find it funny that he can't download more pics, for his ad, because he is on dial-up, BUT if you email him he will email you more pictures.

I emailed him yesterday and asked him where the boat was so I could inspect it before I bid. Today I got a reply that the word for word the same reply that Boomyal got including the pictures. He is sending one generic reply without answering questions.

Well, Boom, the photos he emails you may just be in his inbox, and he just forwards it to you, which doesn't require the bandwidth as actually uploading the photos to you.

It's a scam, without a doubt, but I didn't find anything malicious in the photo. I have good anti-virus and firewall programs, and nothing was discovered. Photos can't be executed from what I understand.

I just sent him a message saying I would like to offer him a cashiers check for $30,000 if it included free shipping.

That's what I did on my 20 ft Gulfstream Tail Gunner. A late roller cam 5.0 liter block, a '69 (pre-smog 351W auto cam profile ) roller cam and GT40P heads. I also added an Eldelbrock 2121 Performer intake with a Holley 4160 Marine 4 bbl.

The thing scares me to death. I still have not opened it up all the way. The Gulfstream does not have as high a speed a hull as the Beachcraft, the Beachcraft is two feet shorter and who knows how many pounds lighter.

I'd hate to think what that combo would do in the Beachcraft.

Paint will be forthcoming. After lowering the bowrails I will now concentrate on the inside before I do any painting.
