i have a mercury 800/ser. 5008849<br />the plug in harness at the motor was melted.<br />have repaired bad wires,but not sure where some go.i hope someone has a wiring diagram for this<br />panel .<br />they are alot of connections,want to be sure,i cannot trace but so many. help '''''''''''

I'd recommend a manual. The pics and schematics tell a lot more than any can describe here. It even will prove valuable in many more respects when you maintain your motor.<br /><br />Link on bottom of this page.
