Joe I did all the the test you described. Compession was good, 100 on all cylinders. Made homemade spark tester, preformed very well. Had a wide blue spark like you described. Joe I don't know if you read my post about the ground wire to the power pack that was attached to a bolt in the cover that was stripped. The bolt was pretty loose allowing the bolt to move around. I reatached the ground to another bolt in the power head. Joe I haven't had a chance to take it out, but is it possible that was my problem?

To answer your question... That black wire leading from the powerpack to ground is a absolute requirement. If that wire was loose or broken, the ignition would be erratic or non existent.<br /><br />Apparently you found the cure to the compression problem also.

Thanks Joe. I'll probably get a chance to try it out next day or so, and I'll let you know how it goes.
