i have a 1995 century center console that has an electrical problem: all of my lights, including the fish finder and bilge pump, are not working, but all of the gauges and motor are still functioning. I can;t find any fuses that correspond to the problem.

p.s. memorial day is coming... can i go on the water with the bilge pump not running or will i be running the risk of sinking?

thanks a lot!

Re: electrical question

Gauges are running of the ignition. The other things like lights and bilge pump, fish finder, etc. runoff a pos. wire direct from the battery. Start at the battery and make sure you are connsected there and work your way to the concole. there also may be an inline fuse somewhere in that wire.
If your boat doesn't leak and it's not raininghard you can operate the boat on the water withouth the bilge pump. If you park the boat in a slip when you are not using you would want your bilge pump working because of rain.

Re: electrical question

As far as the bilge pump goes you should never totally rely on an electric one anyway and you should also have a bailing bucket or manual pump to be compliant with the safety regs.
