A 14 foot boat with a 90 on it sounds WAY overpowered to begin with. Most 14 foot boats are rated for 20 to 25 horsepower-- some as much as 40. Best advice, unless you have a death wish, is to check the boats data plate for its maximum rated power and don't exceed it.

Re: engine adaptor plates?

its a v4 jet drive, and is way underpowered as it is, there is no max hp. my question is the adaptor plate the use for the water and exhaust for the jet drive setup, will a v6 bolt onto it? do the have the same powerhead gasket surface?
