Re: Engine Alarms

I know Merc put them both down low, but Volvo used them up by the distributor (easier to get to and dryer), and why I mentioned that location. So, am I still allowed to say it?

Yes, you are allow to say it...:D ;)

I'm just saying it's easier to see a big ol' oil pressure sender and identify that than a tiny little plug, inside a port down behind the distributor that will be difficult to see even if the engine were out of the boat. I have the oil pressure sender on my car engine (6.5L GM diesel) in that location (behind the distributor... And before you tell me diesels don't have distributors, I know, I'm using that as a reference point. There's a vacuum pump in the 'distributor' hole). I need to put a tee in there and put a second sender in so I can parallel them up so the gauge reads right... (long story, but Toyota don't use 'standard' gauges like 33-240 Ohm, they use there own weird stuff. This one measures something like 400 ohms at full pressure and 1 mega-ohm at 0 pressure). And even that port up higher is so hard to get to. I think that was the point of the story...
