(I hope that title passes the censors! I did see that verb widely used.)

My '97 70hp outboard doesn't pee. My mechanic says not to worry about it, that a little piece of crud is probably blocking the hole, but it doesn't matter. I flush the engine with fresh water through a hose.

Does this sound normal?

Thanks.

very common occurence...sand...shell...doesn't take much to plug it up...use an air compressor or good strong garden hose and shoot it up the pee hole while its running to dislodge the obstruction:cool:

I keep a small piece of wire in my tackle box, So whenever I am fishing in the shallows and my motor wont pump water. I take the wire and clean the tube and also shove in the pee hole in the motor while the motor is running.

It does matter because how else will you know that water is circulating, unless you're willing to just wait until the overheat alarm goes off. Mud dauber wasps like to build nest in those holes, as do other bugs and spiders. Just a piece of wire/coat hanger and you should be good to go. Good Luck!

I fished a small wire into it as it was running. Sand, salt and crud had the hole blocked up. It now pisses fine.
