I was under the impression that my 1997 Vortec heads were the non-adjustable type. The stock nuts arent nylock style and my studs have shoulders.

Hydraulic lifters are not adjustable and you did it correctly

Hmm I hope they can stand up to my little 4.3, but I honestly thought the Sealed Power lifters would but I was definitely wrong there. Thank you for the input Dodge. Ill put the order in today for new pushrods and lifters. I got so happy when there was no noise all the way up to 40mph just for it to resurface and crush my hopes 5 minutes later.

I was under the impression these were not new and they were reused. Haven't heard anything being a major problem with Sealed, and if new, call them they may send you a new set free

I was going by the book so if I was wrong I was going to lose some faith in the manual. lol

My sealed power lifters were new. I had some of my factory lifters left I put in trying to find the problem Sealed lifter to no avail. I will definitely give them a call and see what they have to say. I dont know why I didnt think of that.

I got home today and cranked it up on the hose and it was completely knock free. I idled it down to about 550 rpms, where it was the most pronounced yesterday, and it was smooth as can be.
