Hi this is my first boat. Here is the information about my engine boat.

Type: Mariner outboard, 6 cylinders, 3 carb, 90 hp
Year: 1985
Sérial number: 6246763

So the probleme is when i put the gaz at 100% the engine dosent go at full régime. When i get out of the wather, than he give full régime! But somthime, he drop the régime and whant to stop like he need some gaz or maybe the mixture si not good ( air and gaz )

My mixture gaz/oil is 50:1

I détected that the batery dosent hold full charge, so maybe it could be the probleme so i put a new batery and im gonna make some test to day. I chek the plugs and they are clean.

If you have anny idea of what could be the probleme please tell me.
I give you more information later after the run test i will do to day.

Thank you very mutch for helping me.

Re: Engine Mariner 1985 90 hp cant give power!

Welcome to iboats. Your english is interesting, but passable... isn't the internet wonderful?

You know that out of the water, your engine will run with less load, because there is no work being done by the propeller. (I hope you have a set of muffs to supply water to the engine when you are running out of the water).

In the water, whether at WOT (wide open throttle, or full regime as you call it) the engine is very loaded. It sounds like it isn't getting enough gas (gaz) or there is air mixing into the gas from a leaking primer bulb, or leaky fuel line. Air in the lines can interrupt the flow of gas to the carburaters, and lean the engine to the point of not running well under load.

Check all fuel lines, and check your fuel filter for blockage. You could also look at each float bowl for cleanliness and proper float action and needle seating.

If all checks out, I would look at spark next.

Good luck, and viva le Boating! (did I say that right?)
