OK when i was younger my friend had a tri pod for pulling motors but because we drank more beers than we should have , funny thing always had extra parts when we were done . i need help and or advise about building one , all i can remember is that it had 3 pipes not sure what dia. or what held them together at the top and that it had a hoist at the top . it worked really good because the pipes would sink in the ground just enough that the pipes wouldn't move . any body have pics of one or any ideas ? thanks

Pipes sinking in the ground is not a stable platform. If one sinks in farther than the other the entire rig tips over. Make a trip to the library for plans.

Try googling Tripod Hoist, lots of manufactured ones made.
