engine replacement . on bayliner

Yes i have a 1988 bayliner .capri cuddy cabin..looking to replace the current engine
not sure if i need a engine , with a 20" or 25" transom height ... i have been advised a 20 or 25 would work..
would like some good advise...thanks

Either one "will not be efficient" Measure the transome from the top to the bottom edge and see what you come up with.
