I need to build an engine stand for my 65HP motor while I work on restoring my boat this winter. I did a search of the forums, but came up empty. Does anyone have any plans that they would be willing to share with me.
Thanks,
Jay

Hey,

I found this link to an old post:

http://forums.iboats.com/bbBoard.cgi?a=viewthread;fid=26;gtid=545475

I also built a stand that is a little beefier than some. If your interested I'll try to get a pic for you tomorrow.

Jeff

I went back and found this. I Googled images for outboard stand. This is the stand I copied, but only wide enough for one outboard.

(You'll just have to paste these URL's in your browser window. The little squiggly messes up the hyperlink and I don't remember what to substitute to make it work.)

Re: Engine Stand for my 65HP Merc

Take a look at the '69 Evinrude pics linked in my sig. I basically copied one someone posted on these forums. The only changes I made were to angle it a little so it would be like sitting on a boat. I also added something to clamp the lower unit on while I'm servicing it.

I had some PT 2x6 lumber left over from another project. That and about $20 worth of galvanized hardware is what I used.

I built myself one out of an old lawnmower .... welded two solid iron bars up from the chassis and bolted on the wood transom, it looks funny (whish I had a pic to show you) but it works well as I can push the motor around easily, will see if I can take a pic of it this weekend coming ......

i386, excellent stand, only suggestion is to add a diagional brace. and it will hold anything you put on it. i especially like the angle on the top cross mount. good job.
