Re: Engine Swap 89 Bayliner Capri
Force like any other engine is subject to how well you maintain the engine. Poor maintenance, expect poor performance. Most people dread because of the Mercury connection with Force parts. Force parts don't come cheap. It's the proverbial "pay me now or pay me later" ideaology that scares most people from Force but no motor out there is perfect and if it is not maintained, it will breakdown and it will cost you to get it fixed no matter what engine you buy. My suggestion, stick with the Force and keep it maintenanced. Buy your boat a service manual to help you remember what it takes to repair something once it breaks and to help you remember what parts need maintenance and when. I highly recommend getting the manufacturers (Force) service manual but Clymers or Seloc will do fine. Most of all get out there and have fun boating and stop worrying about what may happen!
