As you say mark, not an earth shattering event. It would just be good to make some kind of point about not following instructions. Make it light but make it.<br /><br />All that being said, it is probably too late to press the point. If it were to be done, it should be done on the spot. It would just be good to keep in mind for any next time.<br /><br />ps, yer right. Any tough love is difficult when they are at their cutest. I think that 2 y/o is the age when they really start to become a person. B4 that, they are hard to relate to for a guy. Oh how I sometimes wish that my 18 y/o was 2-6 again. Daddy was king and they loved you unconditionally.

I pick my battles. Somethings just aren't worth the disciplin. <br />A parent could also do the seen and not heard approach, disciplin the child to the point where he doesn't have the joy in life a 2 year old should have. Life isn't about joy and fun, but a 2 year olds life should be. My friend takes the approach that what he says goes 100% of the time. When he even looks at his kids they get real silent and come see what he wants. He has the idea that even at 3 and 4 they should follow his every instruction to the letter. When they play together my kids laugh and have fun. His girls do nothing but sit quietly. They play but won't really cut loose and have fun.

You gotta' pick your battles. If you got mad every time the busy little man did something he wasn't suppose to... you'd be mad all the time. Let him learn some stuff on his own... paint on his hand isn't worth a big battle. My son's 3 in a week and he's the same... how can you get overly mad?<br />

both are great looking kids. like i said earlier my comments were supose to be sarcastic. agree you need to pick your battles. and i for one do not feel that i was perfect father, or that i would have any right to tell any other person how to be a father to thier own children.
