Am I looking a an easy do yourself project, or major dismantleation of power head , splitting stuff (besides my patience) ?????

Many Thanks to all ! Bulldog

How difficult it is will depend on your skills. I can have the lower unit off, the pump impeller changed and the lower unit back on in about 40 minutes. But I've done a few. :D

To remove the lower unit is 4 bolts. The pump housing has 3 nuts on studs...The trick is to leave the engine in neutral and not move it before it goes back on.

Hello & many thanks for reply, would you have been able to perform this repair with the motor attached to the boat ?
and ...... the impellar is located just in behind the propellar ?

Once again, many Thanks and Cheers !

I'm guessing you've never owner an outboard before, and that you don't know your way around them too well...

May I suggest you take it to a dealer. It shouldn't be that expensive and you can do a lot of damage if you get it wrong.

FYI... The impeller is driven by the drive-shaft and is located on the top of the gear-housing, which can be removed with the engine on the boat.
