I've been thinking about buying an underwater camera for fishing Crappies. It's a setup from Bass Pro for the low price of 179.00. Did anyone ever use on and what are the pros and con about them?

I used to use a small instant underwater cameras. The shots I got snorkeling were not great but that could have been more down to user and not that clear water. But it was great to take in a boat / beach and not worry about it getting wet or using with wet hands

OK, I was talking about a camera and monitor. So you could view the fish under ther water.

For 179 you must be talking about the aquaview scout. I got one for christmas and it is awsome. I have been using it for ice fishing and it is so cool it is beyond words. I have watched the fish come up to the bait and just leave. By trying different lures and presentations I have been able to get some fish that I normally would miss.

One draw back is the monitor is hard to see in daylight. I beleve there is an eye attachement that can be added to eliminate this. Here is a link for some actual footage for the aquaview Notice this for high speed internet
aquaview footage

and here is a link to a fishing forum that I use concerning that aquaview
fishing using an aquaview
