Evinrude 115, I dont know the yr. & cant find any model #'s

I got this motor as a loner while mine was getting fixed and ended up keeping it. It runs great but I need a few things for it now. The guy that gave it to me said he didnt know the year either and I cant find any numbers that look like model numbers on it. One mechanic told me it looks like a 75 or 76 but I cant go on just that. There are numbers on it but they are on engine parts and are all just numbers, no letters in the sequence. Is there any other way to tell what year it is exactly?

the #'s you speak of sound like serial #'s for the motor...what kind of motor is it?

RB,Ive heard sometimes you can get model or serial numbers off the soft plugs(freeze plugs) in the power head.<br />I checked the NAPA catalog 69-70 motors use<br />a single coil, 73/74,76/77 and 78-94 each group uses a different coil.(4 required)This could help pinpoint a year.<br /> Have you checked on the mounting bracket where it goes over the transom?
