Im stunned. It will not fire? from the coils. I have pulled Flywheel for timing, Ive ohmed the charging coil to powerpack and shows .631 K ohms. checked sensor coils ohmed around 15-16 ohms. The only thing I find bad in checking was the rectifier did not check out when it was checked . Someone said it would have no affect on the fireing.?? Will it?? anyadvice from here?

You need a peak reading volt meter to check this system, along with a service manual trouble shooting guide. An ohm meter won't get you by.

A bad rectifier will not charge the battery, will cause problems for the tachometer, and, if the rectifier melts and shorts internally, can cause battery voltage to reach ignition components and cause damage. Otherwise, it does not have anything to do with the ignition. Except for powering the starter motor, neither does the battery.

The starter must be turning fast enough to crank the engine at 300RPM to get sufficient spark for a cold start.

That means a fully charged, powerful battery.

Check for spark with all plugs out, using a spark tester.
