I have no problem winterizing my 1985 Force 85 HP, so I offered to help my father in law do his this year(witch means "I" have to do it myself). Anyway, I figured how different could it be? I popped the cover off & it's not even close. I'm not sure what year it is, mid to late '90's I think. Can someone just walk me through this so I can get this boat out of my driveway? Where do I spray the fogger oil? Is there just one carb? This is all I really need to know, the rest is pretty basic, as far as lower unit, grease fittings, bla bla bla. Thanks, MAXX

Re: Evinrude 25 winterizing question

1:
Run in a barrel, not on muffs. Water level about 2-5" above split between gearcase and leg. The oily water from the exhaust in the barrel will help preserve the cooling system from corrosion!!
2: Let it run 20 min ++, sure thermostats are opened.
Increase idle by manually opereating the carb, inject fogging oil into the carb until the neighbors disappears in the smoke.
3. Let go the carb and stop the engine.
Drain the carb for fuel.
Clean engine, lubricate nipples AND remove prop and lubricate shaft.
4. Change gear oil.
