Evinrude 28 special water pump

Good evening everyone. I have just completed replacing the entire waterpump in my 1995 28 special, and when all is said and done, I have 2 rubber o rings left over. I've carefully inspected everything I removed and there were no o rings present. Does anyone have any idea what these could be for?

It is a glm marine part number 12060.

Also, yes there is a tube but no, they do not fit it.

That tube is only half the diameter of these o rings. It has it's own rubber insert that I inserted. These o rings are almost double the diameter of the drive shaft.

No, there is no exhaust housing tube on the water pump on this model

This is the water pump in it's entirety. The "tube" I was referring to is the water tube. I was half asleep when you mentioned the other tube and didn't grip what you said lol

The parts book shows a spacer ( item 68 ) above the pump.-------I can not see your motor , or know what has been done.-----Perhaps the spacer is only used on long shaft models.-----The kit comes with o-rings for it..-----So perhaps throw them out.----Sorry.

Do you happen to have a picture? There is a spacer that mounts above the lower unit on this model.

I know motors.-----Don't know pictures.-----Easy for you to look at your motor or the online parts books !

Sounds like it's just long shaft
