Evinrude 6HP

I have an Evinrude 6HP motor and need to know its year of manufacture. The model number CD 17 and the serial number is 2038123. I did find the model number but it is for a Johnson 5.5 HP outboard. I need to replace the water pump. Any help would be welcome.

Now let's see if we can help you with your problem. You can go on here to the Evinrude parts section and research your year of your engine and see if bothe the 5.5 HP and the 6 HP used the same impellor. I'm guessing they probably did. Then you can either purchase what you need and see other parts you could need as well. My suggestion is if you plan on keeping your outborad then invest in a manufacture, year, model and HP specific shop manual. It will cover everything you could ever want to know about your engine. It will be your best source for any problems now or in the future as well... Hope this helped you...

Cd-17 is a 1960 johnson 5.5hp . Thats not to say that your motor isnt a combination of johnson and evinrude parts from different model years.

you have a 1960 5.5hp

The impeller is part number 0434424. That is if you have a metal impeller housing. If you have a plastic housing the part number is 0763735
