Re: Evinrude 70hp Fuel Economy

Hi Eddy,
You've got one of the most fuel efficient 2-stroke designs you can find there. I have a 1980 75hp (very similar) on a 15-footer and it gets awesome mileage. Depending on how hard I run it, I can get somewhere in the neighborhood of 6-7 mpg. It'll go down a bit if you're running hard all the time. In my opinion, they're one of the best designs OMC ever came up with...
- Scott

Re: Evinrude 70hp Fuel Economy

I'm with Chinewalker on the Economy. My 95 70Hp with a 15 gallon tank I can go about 90-95 miles on the Alabama River which has the barge milage signs every so often. I have it on a 15' Stratos. Usually when I go on the 'River Run' I keep the RPMs at about 5200. Hope this helps.
