My 1994 Evinrude E70TLERV 70hp had the water pump go bad and the engine over heated. I changed the water pump and the engine starts and idles fine, but under load it misses real bad. A local mechanic looked at it and said my power pack is bad. It has a crack and a hole on the back side of the power pack he said form the engine over heating. Should I buy an OEM power pack or is Sierra or CDI ok to use? Also do you think the stator should be ok after the engine over heated? One more question, QL77JC4 gapped at .030 0r .040?
