Life got super busy and I left my boat sitting for a couple years.

The motor turns over fine, but no signs of firing or even trying to fire.

So far I have replaced all the filters, fluids and spark plugs.

I drained the tank and put fresh gas in.

Bought new batteries.

And have worked through my Seloc manual and checked most of the components I can check with a DMM.

Seems like I have voltage everywhere I should and the resistance readings are within spec.

I have not checked the kill switch on the ignition.

Everything seems correct except for my pump not running for 3 seconds after I turn the key on.

I am pretty much resolved to the fact that I need to either change the pump or the entire VST.

Can anyone think something I can try or missed before I make the expensive purchase?

Thanks in advance

I checked the 15 amp and 30 amp fuses I found on the motor..both good

Thanks for the reply!

Well you're really going to need an oem manual. You'll have to check to make sure the computer is grounding the pump which turns it on. I can't remember which pin in the connector it is. Does your model have the big 55 pin connector? That would be the connector from the ECM

You'll also want to verify that you're not getting fuel pressure on the fuel rail and it's a good idea to go ahead and rule out the kill switch

I can't remember on that motor. It would need to be isolated from the emm. The computers are really expensive on these and you really don't want to be putting voltage or probing if you don't know exactly what you're doing. I can't suggest the OEM manual strongly enough it goes through all the testing and I don't have time to talk you through it this time of year

Do you have access to the diagnostic software.? I believe you can cycle the pump on and off with a computer

They change the wiring harness right in there I don't know if the 2,000 is the same wiring harness as the 99. I get all those dates confused

The wiring harness determines which pins are used to check which sensors

If I energize the pump, I would remove the wiring harness from it and make a connector or use alligator clips to the tabs to give it a bump. The electrical connection is right on top and easily accessed.

I have read about people applying 24v to them to "un-sieze" it which seems crazy to me.

So, the pump would be completely out of any circuit connected to the motor or ECU.

My seloc maual has the pinouts at the ECU and various voltage and resistance readings. I have checked them all and they are within spec.

Pumps to go bad I replace them all the time. I'm not sure about putting 24 volts to it. I would take it apart and inspect first it's not that difficult then you could apply voltage while it's on the bench

I have to remove the intake to get to the VST

In the manual it looks pretty easy to remove.

Yes, not difficult. Pay attention to hose routing. Torque wrench required for reassembling.
