I'm just a rookie, but I suggest replacing the primer pump and flushing the lines connecting your primer pump. It's a long-shot, but could be a low-cost solution to your problem. You may have a piece of crud in the bulb or in the line leading to the bulb. The flow of gas puts that piece of crud into the primer pump's anti-syphon valve causing a restriction. You remove and blow into the primer pump removing the restriction...but only temporarily. Good luck!
