Recently aquired an old Evinrude, before attempting to make it run I would like to find out if parts are even available. The metal name plate is in excellent shape & only lists a serial # 7514-84611. There is not even a marking on it to say what hp. By phisical size I guess considering age it is around 10 hp. I have tried through internet but with just a serial # I have not found anything.

Re: Evinrude age

7514 is the model number and is for a 1954 7.5hp

It'll take J6C plugs gapped at 0.030"

Fuel mixture will be 20:1.

Re: Evinrude age

Thank you very much, Along with trying to make old stuff run again I like to have some histroy to go with it. From your information I was able to find this: (along with original picture / sales info. However I have not been able to find a site for parts. From what I was told sounds like it has a fuel problem [starts but stalls out after a bit] could be heat & electrical. So it is questionable if it can be repaired without some parts. Given the age I will likely destroy some gaskets disassembling carb. granted one can make their own. This is just a winter hoby / project & not one that I want to invest much money in.
