Evinrude Control Box

I have a question about my 1978 Evinrude control box. There is a knob/switch just below the key switch. This is the box with the idle up lever on top. The knob doesn't appear to do anything when twisted or turned. Is this the fuse holder? If so how does it unplug? Thanks in advance...

Sounds like the same box I have on my 1986.<br />On mine, it adjusts the drag on the throttle lever so it doesn't creep on you.<br /><br />Charles
