Re: Evinrude no spark
Saturday when I purchased motor the owner had the key but I don't remember seeing a lanyard. At $250 I said I could spend the money it would take to get it too fire. Since the controls didn't come with motor that ment the cable was disconnected at the red cannon plug. After reading some of the post on here I rechecked it by grounding the block and going right to the solenoid and now I have good spark on both plugs. There must have been a problem between the motor and the remote control or he didn't connect the lanyard to the kill switch.
I purchased this motor for my pontoon which has a 1989 28hp johnson on it. I was told that if it had the red cannon plug that the remote control on my boat would work on this motor. My controls don't have a kill switch so will it work with this motor or not, Have not checked the pins in each plug will try to do that this week. Thanks for the help.
