$30.00 for a manual starter handle??? That'll be the day! Go to a regular outboard shop and pick one up for a couple bucks.

Yes but its the one that came with the outboard when she was new . So with that handle it would make it more orriginal as posible . The evinrude fleetwin handle from the 1950's looks cool anyway . I really dont mine the 30.00 for it if its original as posible . But yes it sound like its expensive right but When your trying too keep her as close to when she was new its a small price when evinrude dont have it in stock anymore .

you should be able to get a period correct handle for much less than $30. Besides, these things aren't really worth that much money, even in mint condition, so don't stress out about all the bits being perfect.

I really dont care what there worth . Im going repaint her and place a new starter handle for her . I may not repaint her untill next year and if I find the handle for her I'll buy it . Im going to a motor swap meet on june 23 of this year , so maybe at the swap meet I can find the handle for her . After all Im living in evinrude country . The factory is in sturtevant , WI and There's a warehouse in belot , WI also .

Will The evinrude dealer still all three paint codes for my motor in spray cans . I seen I can fine polychromic blue part number 71259 . But the other numbers Im unsure about . I would need the other two paint codes or stock numbers that evinrude will have . I know nymarine has it in stock but its like 20.00 a can . If for some reason I want to repaint the gas can red , that would be like 80.00 plus shipping . then there's the decals for them .

Well Guys I had the motor out on the water and she runs good . But it seams like she is a little slow on power . But she did move me on the water fine . I could be wrong on the boat speed . But she started on the 4 pull , but if I would of chocked her first she would of started on the second pull . I caught 10 fish , One northern pike trolling with a pike looking lure . 8 largemouth bass , 4 bluegills . The bluegill where hiting worms by the dock . well Im pleased that the motor runs like she did . But my electric minn kota 35 trolling motor died on the water fishing . But when I get ahead again on some money , I'll go fishing somewhere else . The boat rental place had killer stairs and I needed to carry the motor and all the gear down them . There was no easy way to get the gear down the stairs . I may go somewhere else in southeast wisconsin to go fishing and rent a boat .

Did you fine tune the carb while out on the water? Tuning the carb in the test tank gets you running. Tuning while the motor is under load on the water gets you running the best.

Sounds like you need to keep your eyes peeled for a little aluminum row boat on Craigslist. ;)

Yes but I need a real wide one like 16ft .Im not complaining about the speed of the motor . She started better thab before its a inprovment over what was happening before . But My minn kota 35 trolling motor quit on me and after taking apart I found the black lead from the motor melted and the white - fuseable link was chared . So comon problem is the switch in those motors . A man in west allis wi use to fix them cheap . Like 25.00 bucks installed . But he's gone now . that was back in 2005 . any info on that i can do please give me a member that can help out .

Well Im looking forward to taking her out on the water again if i can . She ran fine the last time out but she needed some fine tunning on the carb . I may change the points in the future if I can . But i cleaned the points up and she ran better than in past testing of the motor . I need to find a switch for my minn-kota 35 trolling motor . I only see a 5 speed one for current minn-kota motors . I know there a way to wire the new style switch for the older motors from minn-kota electric motors . But My evinrude fleetwin 7.5 hp motor did run great out on the water . I got from point A To b without any problems . She's a great fishing motor .
