I'm curious about the mounting design of the different size evinrude motors in the 1990's range. I currently own a 30hp which one of the bracket studs pulled out of its thread on the side next to the carburetor. I've seen issues similar to this here so I know it's a common problem. I've since fixed this by welding, drilling, and re-tapping.
My question is, I'm buying a 110hp Evinrude of the same year range and want to know if they beefed up the design a bit on these bigger, higher torque starter motor setups. I would hate to have the same problem as I am paying $5k for this motor.
