Evinrude trim tabs

I have a 1984, 150 hp Evinrude. I am having issues steering the boat. If I let go of the steering wheel the boat will turn left. I can hold it straight with no problem and turning right is hard. I am thinking it might be my trim tab. I do not have the OE style tab on the motor. I am told it is an aftermarket tab called a "Hopper Stopper". The actual tab on it is very short, not like the OE style. I cannot find any info on it online at all. My question is should I go back to OE or is there any other options.

Go back to the OEM tab as they worked real good for quite a few yrs.

When you get the new tab you'll see numbers on the bottom of it. Put the # 3 in line with a mark you'll find on the bottom side of the anti-ventilation plate. That is the starting point.
