excessive oil thru prop

I just changed the lower unit oil on my 1989 25hp and upon running the motor in the driveway with muffs, I noticed excessive oil mixed with the water coming thru the prop. If I need to replace the seal at the prop shaft, is there a special tool or trick to removing it? Any suggestions would be welcome

What you are probably seeing is excess 2-stroke oil. What mix ratio are you running in the gas. Also, check the lower unit oil level and clarity. Make sure the lube is not milky or streaky...this is a sign of water intrusion and could possibly be the issue.

A little bit of 2-stroke being unburned is OK...this is normal. Too much will coke up your rings and plugs. Too little will fry your motor.
