Hey folks, I turned 40 in sept. and am about 50 lbs overweight. Until the last 5 years or so I have always been in good shape. I lifted weights, and used to do over 100 pushups and over 200 situps back in my 20's.
Last week, I decided to buy an eliptical exercise machine for my wife and I, (no room for a weght-set) and have decided to do low-calorie burning(a setting on the machine)on one day, and Aerobic exercise(likewise, a setting on the machine) along with push-ups and situps on the day following the low-calorie burning exercise. I had planned on "just" doing 20 pushups and situps until I got back in shape a little, and would then increase them progresivly. Well, I had a lot of trouble pushing out the 10th pushup, and won't even tell you how few situps I could do! (Man, old age sneaks up fast doesn't it ?)

So... how many pushups and situps can you do? I'm mostly interested in hearing from the 40 and older crowd, but all replies are welcome.
