found their web site but no prices on it...will keep digging....seems odd you can buy manifold and elbows at the same price or less than just the elbows by themselves...

don't know if this link will post or not....https://www.fredwarner1.net/product/...4309t02-v6-v8/ but it looks like this would mount to the manifold with no riser? So I need still the gasket that goes on the top of the riser and elbow? That is the best price I've seen if it is for real! Before the zingers! Also, I liked the gasket with the little round parts all one piece so I know when I put it together nothing moves?

Elbows can mount to the manifold directly, or with a riser (which come in a few different sizes, 1-1/2", 3", 6")...

It's the engine installer's choice as to the use of a riser or not. But if you currently have 3" risers, stay with 3" risers. I also prefer the 'all in one' gaskets.

That elbow in your link is the same as the one for your engine (from the parts diagram), but just check, as there is also a 14° degree elbow. Just check your current one is the 7°, or find a casting number on the elbow somewhere.

I will look but to me looks like it's pretty obvious it's 7, that 14 has a pretty good hook to it....if I can get the elbows for 200 bucks a piece then that is for sure about as good as it is going to get. I found some take off ones but he won't budge on his 495 price for the pair.....thanks for the help sir and I will press on, and get the all in one gaskets..them things are pricy!

Should have my elbows and gaskets this week so getting pretty excited although a lot of work still to do before hitting the throttle.....so on those gaskets and I pulled them off without noticing there is a "flange" on them....It looks like the one on the bottom, flange went up but the one on the top with down? I would think for exhaust flow the flange would point towards the exit of the exhaust?

so achris can you review the above question on the gaskets? Also, these are just put on dry, there are no sealants or anything to install them??

That's called a 'turbulator' gasket. The 'flange' faces up. The philosophy behind it is that the flange heats up in the exhaust flow (REALLY heats up ;)) and any water pulled back into the exhaust will hit that glowing red surface, be instantly vapourised and shot back out of the system, and not enter the combustion chamber.

If you have risers, and you do, the turbulator gaskets goes between the elbow and the riser. The gasket between the manifold and the riser shouldn't have a turbulator flange... Both gaskets are fitted to a clean dry surface, NO sealer....

If you have 2 turbulator gaskets, both face up...

achris Hope your on line this am! Or anyone else that can provide input....so, I'm getting ready to mount my new elbows and use the old risers, above somewhere you stated that the blocked gaskets go between the risers and the manifold and the full flow go between the riser and the elbow- one of the gaskets on the manifold side I have not removed and it is full flow...it is still stuck on there so I know I have not pulled it off.....I'm going to look at the manual but this completely is reverse of how I understood you to say how they go? I do have closed cooling with a heat exchanger etc....

gasket.jpgachris here is a picture of it as well....I'm looking on a parts book and it also confirms the bottom is a full flow with riser and closed cooling so if you know something different please let me know....

Your 'am' is my 'pm'. Sorry, I was asleep when you posted. (It's only 3.30 in the am now anyway)...

Yeah. I see... Looks like someone screwed up. I would configure it based on how your water hoses are plumbed up...
