Took into the shop to have a professional look at it, and Just told them the whole story and what I did. We will see what they say. He did say its not uncommon for people to do that. Having said that, is there a one way valve that can be screwed onto the flush fitting? Something where you can attach a hose and water will flow in when needed, but once you take the hose off it seals up on its own.

Not that I have seen or know of. Just gotta remember to screw the cap back on when you're done with it. Just like the dipstick or oil fill cap.

Latest update from the repair shop... They say the compression on the engine is fine, so that was the good news. The impeller, despite that it looked all intact from one side, was torn apart. The are planning on replacing the impeller (of course) and also all three thermostats. The one for the engine, and the ones in each riser. This may have only pertained to the ones in the risers, but he said when they expand to a certain size they don't bounce back. While changing the thermostats they will be hunting down the missing impeller pieces and trying to put it back together to see if they have them all. They will also be conducting some sort of flush too. This is pretty much what you guys had told me to do. 1500.00 bucks. I think he said 3-400 in parts. I'm fine with it. My mistake, and very happy they said the compression was good.

I guess the silver lining in this case was they found the fuel tank was moved toward the engine 4 inches. They used a 2x4 to get it back. They are calling Chaparral about warrantying it, and to find out how they want them to affix it in place. If I never resulted in taken it in, I don't think I would have discovered that, or may have, but in a not so good scenario.

Thanks guys for all your help! I will report back if anything changes.

I see this a lot so here's what I do: I always use muffs - rinses the drive out, and if the hose pressure is too high, it just sprays out the muffs. There's no forgetting the muffs. Biggest concern when a impeller goes bad is making sure all of the broken pieces are collected.
