1975 SeaRay 888 Ford 302....mercruiser type I
Quick question for Don or some of the other boat mech's....when I had my riser and manifolds pressure tested the technician took the old gaskets that were between the manifolds and risers (including the metal plate that sandwiched between the two gaskets) off....he handed me two new gaskets and told me to use them...
essentially the old ones blocked one of the 3 water ports.....the new gaskets allow water to go through all 3...
he said doing this would allow better water flow, but take a bit longer for the boat to reach operating temp.....
your thoughts....is this correct?
