Exhaust through the transom

My new paroject! I want to take the exaust out the transom and have the switch for the quiet through the outdrive. Does this exhaust exsist for a 4.3 omc? Is it tough to do? Thanks guys. Chris<br /><br />Don, I would love to get your feedback here.

I would think the same system for a smallbolock would work for a 4.3. Dealing with the thick stiff rubber hoses is the biggest pain. I wouldn't count on much of an increase in horsepower, but you should get a few more ponies.

where is the best place to get the system? I found a couple on ebay but it is for a Merc.

It's going to be difficult to impossible to find any such thing for a 4.3. And it's going to be even harder to find anything for a Cobra 4.3. The best you'll be able to do is get one for a MerCruiser smallblock chevy. If your looking to make the boat sound better you'd be better off with a better stereo system. Your never going to get the 4.3 to sound like a v8 motor. The v6 just doesn't have that throaty rumble at idle and it doesn't get any better as the rpm's increase. Unless your going for that high pitched rice burner sound.

Chris<br />I just purchased a 1989 four winns with a 4.3 omc<br />for parts.It has the exhaust pipe and other items there . It had on engine. Let me know what you need.<br />Tony
