Yep, I know mine runs warm. Metal temps at WOT reach 200 F.

Ok, thanks for the info. Andy, what did you decide to hang on the back of your boat? I was looking at the some performance figures from a link over on the the Whaler Board for the E-Tecs. I am really impressed w/the 250 E-Tec. If what I am reading is correct, it actually get a little better GPH/MPH than the 225 hp does. It is showing 32.2mph@4000rpm & 10.68 gph & 3.0 mph.<br /> http://www.e-tecinfonet.org/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/pe317.pdf

Sorry about that, I think it was another Andy on the Whaler board, he had blown his 1989 200 Merc with a bad oil line coming from the oil tank to oil pump. They were brittle and broke while running. That will not set off the oil alarms until the tank is low on oil, then it is too late. After reading his post, I bought new lines for mine but haven't made the switch yet since winter is here and fishing is down for our area until Janurary 06, then for just 2/3 months and closes until July.

Funny enough, that's how my 89 200 Black Max blew
