Hello,
I bought a carb kit for my 1967 Johnson 9.5, Model MQ-13 and there are some parts I do not recognize. Generally I buy something like this and replace the old with the new, but I'm am stumped that there are parts left over that were not on the original. Can anyone help ID these?? I'll attach a picture.

I do know what the plugs are for, I just put them in for size referance. Not sure why they put them in the kit though, there is nothing under them.

thanks,
Chris

The kit probably covers models other than yours. If it was an manufacturers kit I would have expected there to be instrusions that covered any variations but in their absence the best you can do is replace what you need to from the kit and save the rest for a rainy day!

Yes, usually one kit will cover several carbs. But in your pic it looks like the 2 teflon O rings are for the LU drain/fill screws (which shouldn't be in a carb kit) and the 2 cork O rings look like packing nuts for the needles. And on your '67 there is no high speed adjustable jet so it's probably the same kit as another carb with a high speed needle. Althouth the 9.5 is a very unique carb. Just replace what you can and clean all the passages.

Re: Extra Carb Kit Parts

Thanks for the info/advice. I have to agree those parts must be for something other than my motor. However, I find that the larger nylon washer, lower left in the picture, is for the fuel pump screw.

Thanks!
