I found out that I couldn't just go get new axle seals for the easy loader made in 1978 at the parts houses. I ended up having to call EZ Loader, give them my trailer VIN and they gave me the part # to order on their website.

How did you find this out? sounds like a bit of BS to me. If you can get a part number off the seals or spec it out some other way, by size, etc. you should be able to get a replacement in the aftermarket, as Bruce indicated.

Trailers are made from common parts, so it should be more straight forward than going back to the company . . .

Yeah I thought it was going to be easy to find them too, that was before I drove all over to NAPA, Car Quest, Jerry's and O'Rielley's. I had the old seal with me, 2 places ordered new seals for me by the part number on the old seal, none of them were exact with the inner and outer diameter as well as tapered. So they would not press in, I even ruined one trying.

Those are the wrong places to go to. You need to find a bearing supplier.

Or a parts house that knows how to spec the parts. Even tractor supply can get the stuff you need, but the person behind the counter needs to know the specs and books.

I have the best luck with Napa when it comes to matching things up. but the Napa I have close by has a machinist/ machine shop on staff who is the one figuring it out for me

"Bearings r us" doesn't have an outlet store in my clearing in the sticks so trying parts houses was all I had as an option. Just wanted to share that ordering online from the manufacturer using the trailer VIN was the only sure way for these older ez loaders. The new seals cost $3.20 each plus the 8% sales tax and shipping. If anyone in the future has ez loader and axle parts trouble, it's one phone call for the right part and then an online order.

Since your profile only says Washington State, its kinda hard to know you are in the sticks.

Got the new seals this afternoon, 1 day turn around from ez loader. An exact fit, with a total cost of 13 bucks.

I always go to Easy Loader 1st to see what their prices are and then hit the internet. Normally they are competitive on pricing with the local part houses and what you can find online. Bonus is they always get it right 1st time!!

EZ is so lazy they didn't even bother changing the OEM part numbers

Nothing more than a common 1-1/4" x 1.979" x 0.406" TC NCC Double Lip seal.
