Re: EZ Loader Trailer
Hi Folks: I have a 1980 ezload trailer that is made out of steel and weights in
around 2000 lbs. It is 28 feet long from the coupler to the far rear. It has 3
cradels with 4&4 rollers on the rear, 8&8 rollers at the center and 8&8 rollers at the front. I overhuld it about three years ago breaks, berrings, tiers etc.
I have a 23ft 1980 crusiers sitting on it. Launching and recovery by my self is
pretty easy. here is what I do: Back the trailer in close to the side of the ramp, water over fenders. put a bow line on the boat and a stern line on make fast to shore. Release the safety chain and release the winch cable. If the boat dosent come off the trailer, pull your veh.up about 2 feet and back down 3feet quick stop. Boat will come off easy, go and park. I have a remote electric winch. When I want to take the boat out of the water I do the reverse. Tie the boat to the dock bow and stern, leave enough slack, put trailer in the water up to the fenders, walk out on the walk board and hook the winch cable on to th boat. Pull the boat up onto the trailer a couple of feet stop and release the stern line from shore. winch boat up replace safety chain and lock winch, remove bow line from shore. Drive away to a safe location and put the hold down straps on. It usally takes 5 to ten mins to off and a little more time to put on depending on the wind. Keep all of the rollers and cradels lubed. jim
