i have this boat that i was getting ready for the season, started right up but stalled after a few minutes, found the primer bulb would not harden up, found the o ring seal on the ecternal filter was no sested correctly and allowed air in. i replaced the filter and the primer bulb got rock hard, the engine would not start though. i pulled the hose from the filter cup on the front of the engine and i got fuel coming out of it when i squeeze the bulb, i tested the injectos and they are firing but i pulled the hose from the fuel rail and i get no fuel to the rail. i checked the fuse and its ok. the problem is obviously in the fuel pump system but i do not want to condem a pricey pump like this.
any thoughts?

running that pump with no fuel in the VST probably smoked it.
it uses the fuel to lube and cool the pump/motor.
but you need to make sure the pump is getting voltage and the ECU is giving it a ground path

Have someone turn the key on when you have your ear as close to the vapour separator tank as you can. Listen to hear if the pump runs or not.

If you hear the pump run but no pressure, that is one thing. If the pump does not run that it a different thing. If you cannot hear the pump run then apply battery power directly to the electrical leads to the pump. Positive power to red pump wire and negative power to the black pump wire.
