So an insect decided to plug the water ejection hole at the rear of the engine. Upon noticing cleaned the hole out and it is still not ejecting water. Anyone with any knowledge of what may be going on. I removed the lower unit and put a water hose directly to the verticle water tube that plugs into the pump housing. the water seems to be going into the oil pan but still will not eject from the ejection hole. Any replies will be appreciated.

Have you tried connecting a hose to the cylinder head inlet on the left side of the engine and another hose to muffs with the engine running? This may create enough pressure to push out the insect residue- if it was a mud wasp the mud plugs they build are hard to remove.

or unplug the tell tale hose from the exhaust cover and see if the elbow is plugged.
